7 in Heaven

Dearest Maxy,

This post comes a little late, but we’re you’re always in our hearts and minds. ❤

You would have been 7 on August 13, 2021. This would have been yet another year of joy with you, schooling in elementary school and playing with friends on the school field. But Maxy, as much as we miss you, we know that life with Jesus is far better, in a place where painful things do not exist! We do wonder what you will be like, you chubby-cheeked little boy!

Daddy, Mommy, Korkor Mark, Marcel, Matthew, Jiejie Micaela and Myra as well as Didi Micah cannot wait to be reunited with you!

Love, Jiejie Clara

Max’s 6th!

Happy Birthday, Maxy!
You would have been an active 6 year old with a full head of hair.
We miss you every single day.

Daddy and Mommy visited you yesterday and they got you a brand new yellow Cement Mixer!

Dearest Maxy,

It has been four years since you left us, and with each year that passes by, we’re thankful that we are one year closer to finally seeing you again when Jesus returns!!! I’m praying that we will all last till the last day, and we will all be made perfect like Jesus! There will be no need for needles, tubes or yucky medicine! How great is that?:)

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:4

Love,

Clara jiejie

Happy birthday baby Maxy,

You would have been three yesterday!

Although we do not get to see you grow up,

We can’t wait for the day when our Daddy God comes again and makes our bodies perfect:-)

No more pain and bad things!!

Isn’t that wonderful?

By the way,

You have a new didi by the name of Micah 🙂

He looks a little like you! You would have made a great Kor Kor, Maxy!

We miss you!
Love,

Clara jiejie

It’s been two years of missing your smiles and laughter.

All of us can’t wait to see you again, baby Maxy!!

Jiejie Clara is currently busy with her work so she will be back to update more soon!!!

Terrible Twos

Dear Maxy,

You would have turned two this year, and it would have been the year of “Terrible twos”, like what other daddies and mommies always say. We wish you were here to be terribly cheeky and naughty, and we still miss you so.

We used to joke with korkor Mark and tell him that you’re more handsome than he is. Perhaps you would have been more naughty too!! We miss your chubby cheeks, joyful chuckles and bright button eyes. Daddy, Mommy, da ge, er ge, jiejie mic and Myra and alas, korkor Matthew miss you so much. All of us in Singapore cannot wait to see you again too! Well, thank God that at least, we had 6.5 months with you, right?:)
Today, The Chees visited you and Mommy picked out two new bears for you! 🙂 Aren’t you a lucky boy?

We love you and miss you very much:) may you continue to rest in peace, precious little one!
Love all the way from the land of Wantons and Dim Sum,

Jiejie Clara

One year on

Dear Maxy,

It has been a year since you were called to rest by Daddy God. We still miss you everyday, and the fact that it’s been a year means that we are one year closer to seeing you in heaven again, when daddy Jesus comes again! You were a real fighter and you will always live on in the hearts of daddy, mommy, korkors and jiejies, even though life goes on! Daddy and mommy are working at a new job, korkor Mark is a soldier and he recently did splendidly well for his A levels, korkor Marcel is studying hard for his IB exams, jiejie Mic and Myra are making new friends and enjoying school, while korkor Matthew is as cheeky as ever, but growing up so well!

Sometimes we hear people who knew you saying “I wish Maxy was still here”, and we will recall how lovable you were! Though you were so tiny, you taught all of us big people so much about God’s love and mercy. Thank you, chubby lil fighter!

Yesterday, Daddy and Mommy brought family and friends to where you are resting, and they took along pretty Gerberas and colourful aeroplanes!! How fitting for a cute little boy like you!

It certainly looks like Eeyore joined the party of bears!

Rest in peace, little guy! Lots of love for you!

Love, Jiejie Clara

Maxy is 1!

Dear baby Maxy,

You would have been a year old today. Time flies, doesn’t it?
When people turn a year older, it means that 365 days have passed since their last birth-day! Usually on birthdays, people have cake, and friends sing a song to them, which goes like this!

“Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to Maxy, Happy birthday to you!”

Hahahaha it’s the most creative song ever right?

Teeny little boys and girls like you usually have parties, and aunties and uncles bring you many presents (presents are usually boxes of toy cars, teething jelly rings, clothes, or baby books!)!

Usually, babies like you would not have any idea what is going on – you just sit on the dining table, stare at the flickering candle, and grab cake!

Daddy, mommy, korkors and jiejies miss you so much, and wait!! not just them!

Jiejie Michelle and Melissa brought you flowers and balloons too!:)

maxy1

Aren’t they sweet?

Don’t worry about birthdays, though. There are many other things worth waiting for and celebrating, like seeing you again!!! That would be the biggest celebratory party for all of us, although we don’t know when it is exactly yet:)

But… if there’s one thing we’re certain about, it’s that with each year that passes, we know we’re closer to seeing you again.

You’ll always be cherished in our hearts, little warrior!

Loving and missing you all the way from New York,

Jiejie Clara

AUGUST 2014

In the evening on the day you were born, Daddy and Mommy were journeying home from Uncle Kenny and Aunty Gwen’s house when they saw two rainbows painted across the sky.

unnamed

The rainbows that reassured Daddy and Mommy 🙂

Daddy and Mommy were hoping that you would be born soon, so that they could return to Singapore with you, to meet your Korkors and Jiejies!

The rainbows comforted Daddy and Mommy, for it was as though Daddy God in heaven was trying to send them a little message, to tell them that everything would be o-kay!

Sure enough, you were born on that very night, at about 1 am, after 30 minutes of labour, to your beautiful mommy and handsome daddy!

This was how your journey on planet Earth, your temporary home, began on the 12 of August, 2014.

bluemarblewest

You were one of the 7.125 billion people on this ball! Isn’t it funny how you could balance on a ball? Hee hee! This is one of the marbles your Daddy God made! Such marbles have special names – they are called Planets!

You were born in Flinders Hospital in Adelaide, Australia. That made you an Australian, and that is why daddy, mommy, and your siblings called you Aussie boy!

map_pic1

Adelaide is a state in Australia! See that black little box? that’s Adelaide, where you were born, and called to rest. 🙂

You were a tiny baby, weighing in at 2.7kg, and you came out real quick – in just 30 minutes! What an excited baby, eager to see the world!

Did you know that you are really, really special? You were a caul baby, and that basically means that you came out in your little water bag (amniotic sac) – the one you were swimmin’ in like a little fishie for 9 whole months! you loved it so much you brought it out with you. Only less than 1 in 80,000 live births are caul births, and yours was one of them! According to daddy, you came out looking like a miniature spider man, moving around in your water bag. It must have been an interesting sight to behold!

When you were born, mommy and daddy carried you lovingly and named you Chee Tse Yi Max Leandres. Your pictures were sent to your fellow cheeselets in Singapore, and everyone loved you immediately.

Here’s a picture of your beautiful mommy carrying a crying you, at birth:)

first day

Mommy was overjoyed to have you!

Look at your small, pink face! You have 5 siblings, and they are Mark, Marcel, Micaela, Myra, and Matthew. All of them were born with a head full of hair, but strangely enough, you were not the typical Cheeselet. You had…little hair! It was so funny! I told you you were special!:)

Mommy looked after you for a few days before she flew back to Singapore with you, barely 5 days old. You were the youngest baby on board! Apparently, you did not cry and you were quietly sleeping without disturbing any other flight passengers. Good job, baby Max!

When you finally arrived in Singapore, guess who was most excited to carry you when mommy and daddy walked into the house with you?

Mark?

no…

Myra?

maybe…

but no, it was Korkor Marcel!!!

He went forward to you and called out your name, then scooped you out of daddy’s arms gingerly. Here he is, your contented korkor Marcel.

You were sleeping soundly, and Marcel just kept going

You were sleeping soundly, and Marcel just kept going “He’s so tiny…He’s so cute!!!”

Guess who was fighting to carry you next?

Yes it was Micaela Jiejie! but sadly, I did not picture her:(

So this is Myra jiejie, also known as your younger jiejie, carrying you!

Look at that cheeky, toothless grin! Fresh out of a shower and very excited to meet you, baby Max

Then it was me, I was a little afraid to carry you as you were 2.5kg then, after having lost weight upon discharge from the hospital.

You were the tiniest baby I’d ever seen, and I fell in love with this little human in my arms IMMEDIATELY! no question about it. You have my heart.

That very Saturday, you made your first trip to church! It was your first Sabbath and you were still wearing your hand-knitted beanie, lovingly knitted for teensy babies at the hospital you were born in.

23rd August 2014, 10.49am. Guess who was still getting some rest? ZZZ catching some sleep in mommy’s arms!!

I cannot remember who was carrying you, but you spent most of your church day sleeping:)

Your new church friends LOVED you. Everyone was eager to see the newest baby Chee! You were described as “small”, “pink”, “cute”, “hairless” and “light”, amongst other things, by your church friends:) EEEEK! So CUTE!

I think it was an eventful day for you!

Let’s see how your second Sabbath went!

30th August, 2014. Teehee!! buckled in like a little sausage in a hot dog roll…

This picture was taken after lunch, when everyone had their fill!! Do you know what lunch is? It’s like…when people eat at noon because their stomachs are rumbling! It’s like… when you drink milk, but we eat normal food! In case you didn’t realise, lunch fellowship in church allows all of us members to chit-chat with each other, but you were to young to baby talk with anyone! You did have toddler friends like Edel and Gillian coming to see you, though!

In the picture above, you were in the sanctuary in your baby car seat. Daddy and mommy were busy, with daddy at music practice. Korkor Marcel and I were looking after you, and shortly after this you cried because the choir was too loud for you! HAHA poor baby!! Don’t worry, Korkor Marcel hushed you to sleep, and Micaela Jiejie came to carry you.
