In the evening on the day you were born, Daddy and Mommy were journeying home from Uncle Kenny and Aunty Gwen’s house when they saw two rainbows painted across the sky.

The rainbows that reassured Daddy and Mommy 🙂
Daddy and Mommy were hoping that you would be born soon, so that they could return to Singapore with you, to meet your Korkors and Jiejies!
The rainbows comforted Daddy and Mommy, for it was as though Daddy God in heaven was trying to send them a little message, to tell them that everything would be o-kay!
Sure enough, you were born on that very night, at about 1 am, after 30 minutes of labour, to your beautiful mommy and handsome daddy!
This was how your journey on planet Earth, your temporary home, began on the 12 of August, 2014.

You were one of the 7.125 billion people on this ball! Isn’t it funny how you could balance on a ball? Hee hee! This is one of the marbles your Daddy God made! Such marbles have special names – they are called Planets!
You were born in Flinders Hospital in Adelaide, Australia. That made you an Australian, and that is why daddy, mommy, and your siblings called you Aussie boy!

Adelaide is a state in Australia! See that black little box? that’s Adelaide, where you were born, and called to rest. 🙂
You were a tiny baby, weighing in at 2.7kg, and you came out real quick – in just 30 minutes! What an excited baby, eager to see the world!
Did you know that you are really, really special? You were a caul baby, and that basically means that you came out in your little water bag (amniotic sac) – the one you were swimmin’ in like a little fishie for 9 whole months! you loved it so much you brought it out with you. Only less than 1 in 80,000 live births are caul births, and yours was one of them! According to daddy, you came out looking like a miniature spider man, moving around in your water bag. It must have been an interesting sight to behold!
When you were born, mommy and daddy carried you lovingly and named you Chee Tse Yi Max Leandres. Your pictures were sent to your fellow cheeselets in Singapore, and everyone loved you immediately.
Here’s a picture of your beautiful mommy carrying a crying you, at birth:)

Mommy was overjoyed to have you!
Look at your small, pink face! You have 5 siblings, and they are Mark, Marcel, Micaela, Myra, and Matthew. All of them were born with a head full of hair, but strangely enough, you were not the typical Cheeselet. You had…little hair! It was so funny! I told you you were special!:)
Mommy looked after you for a few days before she flew back to Singapore with you, barely 5 days old. You were the youngest baby on board! Apparently, you did not cry and you were quietly sleeping without disturbing any other flight passengers. Good job, baby Max!
When you finally arrived in Singapore, guess who was most excited to carry you when mommy and daddy walked into the house with you?
Mark?
no…
Myra?
maybe…
but no, it was Korkor Marcel!!!
He went forward to you and called out your name, then scooped you out of daddy’s arms gingerly. Here he is, your contented korkor Marcel.

You were sleeping soundly, and Marcel just kept going “He’s so tiny…He’s so cute!!!”
Guess who was fighting to carry you next?
Yes it was Micaela Jiejie! but sadly, I did not picture her:(
So this is Myra jiejie, also known as your younger jiejie, carrying you!

Look at that cheeky, toothless grin! Fresh out of a shower and very excited to meet you, baby Max
Then it was me, I was a little afraid to carry you as you were 2.5kg then, after having lost weight upon discharge from the hospital.

You were the tiniest baby I’d ever seen, and I fell in love with this little human in my arms IMMEDIATELY! no question about it. You have my heart.
That very Saturday, you made your first trip to church! It was your first Sabbath and you were still wearing your hand-knitted beanie, lovingly knitted for teensy babies at the hospital you were born in.

23rd August 2014, 10.49am. Guess who was still getting some rest? ZZZ catching some sleep in mommy’s arms!!

I cannot remember who was carrying you, but you spent most of your church day sleeping:)
Your new church friends LOVED you. Everyone was eager to see the newest baby Chee! You were described as “small”, “pink”, “cute”, “hairless” and “light”, amongst other things, by your church friends:) EEEEK! So CUTE!
I think it was an eventful day for you!
Let’s see how your second Sabbath went!

30th August, 2014. Teehee!! buckled in like a little sausage in a hot dog roll…
This picture was taken after lunch, when everyone had their fill!! Do you know what lunch is? It’s like…when people eat at noon because their stomachs are rumbling! It’s like… when you drink milk, but we eat normal food! In case you didn’t realise, lunch fellowship in church allows all of us members to chit-chat with each other, but you were to young to baby talk with anyone! You did have toddler friends like Edel and Gillian coming to see you, though!
In the picture above, you were in the sanctuary in your baby car seat. Daddy and mommy were busy, with daddy at music practice. Korkor Marcel and I were looking after you, and shortly after this you cried because the choir was too loud for you! HAHA poor baby!! Don’t worry, Korkor Marcel hushed you to sleep, and Micaela Jiejie came to carry you.
